Krystina Nellis is a writer and performer based in London. She has become far too accustomed to writing about herself in the third person so let's stop that immediately shall we?
I've been writing, acting and occasionally directing for the better part of 20 years now, which I think in industry speak makes me an 'emerging artist'. My work has been called 'funny', 'warm', 'dark' and 'weird' which if nothing else speaks to the multitudes contained within all of us. My play Glitch will be launching in March 2020 at the Vault Festival in London. I also write for TV and film.
I'm a current member of the Soho Theatre Writer's Alumni Group (aka. SWAG), having taken part in the Soho Theatre Writer's Lab in 2018-9 where I developed Glitch. I like Soho because they're a bit odd like me.
I graduated from the MA Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. In my final year I was awarded the inaugural Central Start-Up award for my production company Studio Odder.
I've also studied improv and sketch comedy with Hoopla in London and Upright Citizens Brigade in LA.
I've been shortlisted for Pleasance Reading Week, received special praise from Thousand Films and made the top 15% of BBC Drama Writers Room 2019.
Get in contact if you'd like to discuss new ideas, developing projects or commissioning me.
(I also do things for companies like journalism, copywriting, artwork QC/proofreading and content management. Here's my portfolio for that work.)
